For dog lovers, a getaway isn’t complete without your four-legged friend! At Whitemoss Lodge, all our eco pods are dog-friendly at no extra charge. We ask that you clean up after your dog(s), keep them under control, especially around the lambing season, and be mindful of other guests on site.

Dog Friendly Walks in Dunning

Kincladie Wood (Dunning Community Woodland) – 7 min drive

This ancient woodland has existed since 1750. The walk is a circular path of around 1.2 kilometers. A relatively small woodland of only 20 acres, it is managed by the Dunning Community Trust. It is steeped in history, including links to the burning of witches in the 17th century and the site of a Roman encampment.  

Pitcarins Glen – 8 min drive 

Out of Dunning, past Newton of Pitcairn, is a lovely 2-hour circular walk. A favourite walk for locals, it takes you along Dunning Burn and back up the top of the glen. You can start the walk from the village or park further up the road. 

Craig Rossie – 4 min drive

Craig Rossie (357m) is an extinct volcano and the most northerly of the Ochil Hills. It is the hill you can see from the pods at Whitemoss Lodge. The walk is an advanced hike due to its steep ascent and unmarked paths. The 6.5km circular walk takes around 2 - 3 hours. The hill can be active grazing for cows and sheep, please keep dogs under control.
